Does Google Abandon Page Rank ?

So , what to expect from this comment. Google Really moving away from his Page Rank System.
What could be the reason behind it ? Does google not happy with the promotional sites providing link building or PR optimization services ? Now what happen to all such sites who are link dependent ?
If there is no Page Rank, then there will be no double standards in Google’s Search Results anymore. If there is no ranking, then all those back links and back link system will loose its services. Everything will be in the hand of Google, decide who gets listed the first few pages of their Search Results.
